Many years of school and practice have taught the practitioner where to place the needles. There will be a combination of needles inserted to make up your treatments. The needles are usually located in the hands, feet, legs, arms and torso, depending on what we are treating.
2. Does it hurt?
Not really. You usually do not feel anything, other times you may feel a slight sensation. It is NOTHING like getting an injection with a hypodermic needle and cannot be compared to getting a "shot".
3. What are the needles like?
The needles are tiny, about the size of a horse hair. The insertion is painless. Most patients are so relaxed they fall asleep during the treatment. There is nothing on or inside of the needles. Each needle is individually wrapped and then properly disposed of after it is used.
4. How long does a treatment take?
40 minutes to 1 hour.
5. How many treatments will I need?
Usually 3-10, depending on what we are treating. Occassionally a patient comes in and only needs one treatment. Other times with difficult cases it may take 15 or more treatments to clear the problem. I try to give all my patients an estimate of how many treatments they will need before beginning the treatment. The patient will usually see some improvement of the problem after just a few treatments.
